Emmy Award-Winning Photographer
Brian Skerry is a photojournalist specializing in marine wildlife and underwater environments. Since 1998 he has been a contract photographer for National Geographic Magazine covering a wide range of subjects and stories. In 2014 he was one of five photographers named as a National Geographic Photography Fellow. In 2017 he was named a National Geographic Society Storytelling Fellow and in June 2017 he was awarded the title of Rolex National Geographic Explorer of the Year.
MARY ANN VANDE LINDE, DVM

Dr. Mary Ann Vande Linde is a graduate of the University of Georgia's College of Veterinary Medicine. In addition to private practice experience, her career background includes teaching at various veterinary schools and colleges, technician schools, and veterinary conferences, consulting on practice management issues, developing, mentoring and coaching retreats for women practice owners as well as developing, mentoring and coaching associate training programs for exam room and professional success. She has had the honor of working with the management teams at such corporations as Hill's Pet Nutrition, IDEXX Laboratories, Pet Health Network, Novartis Animal Health US, Elanco Animal Health, Merial Animal Health, Zoetis and Virbac. She is currently serving on the Companion Animal Parasite Council (CAPC) board and as a Blue Buffalo Veterinary Advisor.
Dr. Vande Linde is nationally recognized as a leader in the field of veterinary communication. She is widely respected for her ability to inspire others through her guidance in interactive training programs, strategic planning, problem solving, leadership and marketing programs and services. Her concentration on excellent preventative care through compassionate and consistent communication between pet parents and their doctor and veterinary team are contributing factors to her growing reputation as a voice for total pet wellness and quality of life.
In 2008, Dr. Vande Linde founded Vande Linde & Associates to focus on all aspects of exam room communication excellence to transform the veterinary experience. She shares her time with Mr. Darcy, an energetic border terrier who enjoys beach walks and bike rides.

Through his company, Flourish Veterinary Consulting, he combines more than 20 years of veterinary experience, a Master's degree in Applied Positive Psychology & Coaching Psychology, and education in Positive Leadership and Positive Organizational Scholarship to help them achieve that.
MONICA DIXON-PERRY, CVPM

Monica has been involved in the field of veterinary medicine for over 35 years. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has also been awarded the designation of Certified Veterinary Practice Manager.
For 11 years, Monica managed a successful full-service small animal eastern and western medicine veterinary practice in Raleigh, NC. As hospital administrator with Bowman Animal Hospital & Cat Clinic, Inc., she managed every aspect of the seven-day-a-week, nearly 100 healthcare team, nine-doctor hospital’s operations.
For nearly 15 years, Monica was a consultant/partner with VMC, Inc. where she presented a seminar called Principles of Veterinary Practice Management throughout the United States and Canada. She has lectured at several national veterinary conferences and veterinary schools in the United States.
As a consultant, Monica enjoyed lecturing and working with practices that participated in VMC’s on-site consultation services. While at VMC, Monica was also a part-time university lecturer at North Carolina State University in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics where she taught Veterinary Practice Management at the undergraduate level.
In her initial role at MVP position, Monica was VP of Strategic Partnerships for the Carolinas. Currently, Monica is serving as Director of Practice Management. She is thrilled to work with the
network of MVP practices and their management teams as she oversees the creation and development of MVP’s executive management training program. She is also an active member of the Veterinary Hospital Managers Association and VetPartners.
Monica shares her Raleigh, NC home with her supportive and loving husband and their daughter.
DAVID McCORMICK, MS, CVA

David McCormick consults and speaks nationally on veterinary practice management issues focusing on practice valuation and ownership issues, the buying and selling veterinary practices and veterinary demographics. He also operates Simmons & Associates Mid-Atlantic with his partner and father, Larry McCormick, DVM, MBA, CBA.
David is involved nationally in practitioner management education. He has presented and/or is scheduled to present at the Atlantic Coast Veterinary Conference, the American Veterinary Medical Association’s Annual Convention, the Western Veterinary Conference, and the North American Veterinary Conference. He is also a member of the teaching team for the American Animal Hospital Association’s Art of Veterinary Practice Success, a four-day workshop held in October and February.
David is a member of the Institute of Business Appraisers and has completed the course of study, Valuing Closely Held Businesses, conducted by this organization. He was also the program coordinator for the practice management component of the American Veterinary Medical Association’s 2003-2007 Conventions.
David is a Charter Member of VetPartners and currently the Immediate Past President. He also serves on the AVPMCA Nominating Committee and the Valuation Issues Committee.
KAREN RENTAS, PhD
Karen Rentas, PhD, is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and founder of Mindabble. Dr. Rentas is a leader in developing and advancing integrated care models between behavioral health and primary care. She is a published author for research that highlights the importance of universal behavioral health screening at primary care settings. She has worked both as a consultant and providing direct care to patients with complex medical and social needs. Dr. Rentas grew up in Puerto Rico and completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2011 from Carlos Albizu University in San Juan, PR.
MEGAN CHIARELLI, MD
Megan Chiarelli, MD grew up in Eastern Washington. Her medical education, residency, and fellowship brought her abroad and to the east coast, and she now calls Pasadena, California home. Board-certified in both general psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry, she has worked with organizations across the nation evaluating their mental health needs and advocating for wellness and education in communities and schools. Building upon the foundation she and Dr. Rentas have established in community and medical work, Dr. Chiarelli is excited to partner with our colleagues in animal medicine and the shared goals for healthy living.
SHARON BURNS, RVT
Nationwide Pet Insurance
Sharon Burns, RVT has over 25 years of veterinary experience, and has managed private, specialty and corporate practices throughout Southern California. As a part of Nationwide Pet Insurance, she is a licensed property and casualty agent, and has educated and supported veterinary practices across the country. She is the newest member of the Nationwide Veterinary Relations Outreach Team.
Sharon currently serves as an active member of the California Veterinary Medical Reserve Corps (CAVMRC); the Treasurer of the North Bay-Westside Chapter of the Southern California Veterinary
Medical Association (SCVMA); and, as the CVMA RVT Committee District II Representative.
Since transitioning to working from home during COVID, Sharon has enjoyed being the foster mom to a plethora of kittens…on top of the three permanent feline residents! She also shares her home with
Loosie, the teenage terrier and Ted, the 80+ year old California Desert Tortoise.
EMILY TINCHER, DVM

Dr. Emily Tincher is second-generation veterinarian and 2016 graduate of Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. After completing a rotating internship, she worked as an emergency doctor in a
specialty referral hospital, near Philadelphia, PA and as a Field Veterinarian for Nationwide Pet Insurance. She went on to work as the IDEXX University Relations Liaison, focusing on education and
medical outreach at veterinary universities in North America. Currently, she is the Director of Veterinary Relations at Nationwide Pet, overseeing operations in the veterinary space, including industry relationships and outreach to veterinary students, veterinarians and veterinary teams. She continues to practice clinically as a relief veterinarian.
Emily is the Chair of the AVMA Early Career Development Committee and is a member of the BOD for the Veterinary Leadership Institute. Emily has spoken nationally about professional development and
believes in building the communication and leadership skills required for veterinary healthcare teams to lead fulfilling careers while meeting their patients’ needs. Outside of veterinary medicine, Emily enjoys
taking care of her mini farm with her husband Kyle, competing her horse (Blue) in the sport of Eventing, and endlessly spoiling her two perfect dogs (Tuxedo and Cricket) and rotten orange tabby (Exploding
Persian Plant Girl | NoodleU Resident Cooking Teacher
Shirin Modaresi is a small animal veterinarian, originally from Rock Hill, SC. She graduated in 2010 from UGA CVM (Go Dawgs!) and worked in private practice for 4 years in GA before moving to an industry position in Charlotte, NC. She and her husband, Gabriel, started her plant-based cooking channel on YouTube while in quarantine because they needed something fun to do together. Gabriel is the videographer, sound-nazi, and editor while Shirin is the creator, dumpling-master, and vegan chef. When they aren't cooking and editing silly videos, Shirin and Gabriel love to spend time with their two boys, Cyrus and Kai (12 and 10), and their menagerie, currently consisting of 3 cats and 1 dog plus or minus a few foster kittens.
